After winning the Murwillumbah Roots Festival band competition in 2015 Brother Norton put the prize of recording time to good use. The band headed down to Lucky Boy Analogue Studios in Byron Bay and over three days in February 2016 recorded eight phenomenal live tracks. They sent the results to good friend, Ben Thompson in Nashville to produce the final product.

Soulful, energetic and intrepid songs reminiscent of influences past and present radiate from six remarkable Australian musicians.
Brother Norton are simply a phenomenal force of musical brilliance including 3 horn players, 2 vocalists and a wicked rhythm section. Whether it’s one of there own magic creations or a reworked classic, Brother Norton have a reputation for mixing things up musically, and inspiring their audiences. Their sound is a powerful mix of blues, funk, and rock music. Their live shows are energetic and captivating, never failing to put a smile on your face and get you moving on the dance floor.
Brother Norton was formed in mid 2014 and in their relatively short life they have established themselves as a tight, effective group, with amazing presence and dynamic sound. They continue to go from strength to strength.
The awesome horn section of Jake Bryant and Dale Norton features in every song, along with a solid rhythm section provided by three brothers – Steve, Mark and Michael Payne. The powerful and soulful vocals of Owen Hogan move seamlessly between songs with Dale Norton (trumpeter and bands name sake) providing occasional lead vocals. Love their music, don't miss a gig.
